Alimentec 2024, is developed with the participation of more than 200 international companies representing 21 countries

Alimentec, an event organized by Corferias and Koelnmesse, is taking place until June 21 at the capital's fairgrounds, celebrating its 12th edition. With a wide presence of international companies, which represent more than 45% of the total exhibitors, the commercial exhibition is strengthened representing the food and beverage industry, the HORECA sector, Retail and Large Supermarkets.


There are 200 international companies, which represent 21 countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, South Korea, Ecuador, Spain, United States, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Czech Republic, Turkey, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Singapore and Vietnam.


Alimentec, promoted by Anuga, the world's leading food fair, allows foreign companies to position themselves in Colombia. According to data and figures from ProColombia, the country is positioned as the third largest economy in Latin America, with 5 business centers with more than 1 million inhabitants: Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla and Cartagena, cities that offer companies diversity of features according to your needs and expansion objectives. In addition, the country has a network of agreements that provide preferential access to 97% of the countries in the region and worldwide to more than 1.5 billion consumers.

In short, foreign delegations show trends that facilitate the exchange of best practices and specialized knowledge, helping to improve quality and food safety standards for Colombia. Likewise, the companies that are coming to Alimentec 2024 from different parts of the world stimulate competition in the national market, a fact that drives local companies to improve their processes, products and services to remain competitive against the international offer.


This is highlighted by Doris Chingaté Vega, Project Manager of Corferias: “By facilitating interaction between companies from different countries, Alimentec becomes a key meeting point to establish business relationships. These transnational interactions can lead to distribution agreements, strategic alliances, foreign direct investment and technology transfer, which are beneficial for both parties.

The event has within its programming prominent national and international guests who are present in activities such as conferences, talks and demonstrations; These are carried out in different spaces, including Horeca Talks in pavilion 3 level 2, the Food Innovation Summit in the Corferias auditorium and the Cooking Show in pavilion 18.


Among the notable guests are César Durán Morales, Bachelor and Master in Business Administration and Food Engineer from Costa Rica; Biotechnologist Ana Alicia Martínez, from Mexico; Gustavo Tomé, Argentine Gastronomic Consultant; and Mila Valcárcel, Spanish with more than 25 years of professional experience in Innovation and Market Development for Food and Beverage brands, among others.
